• Migrate on-premise File servers to Azure Files services
  • Build storage account, networks, private endpoints, Azure Private DNS, RBAC
  • Mount and restore backups to Azure File Shares
  • Sync over data with Azure File Sync and robocopy (agentless)
  • Resolved Azure DNS misconfigurations from previous administration
    • Removed zones impersonating Azure DNS
    • Corrected server forwarding to Azure-provided DNS service 168.63.129.16
  • Tested network load on robocopy with IPG settings to review usage and possible production impact
  • Updated file server resources to support more multithreaded transfers; reduced time from a week to 1.5 days
  • Running duplicate sync to capture missed files locked by users
  • Prepping for Azure File Sync to finalize for final transition and acceptance by user community
